The fragmentation geometry was derived from two principal input datasets: transportation infrastructure, including selected road classes and railways, from the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;commercial &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;TomTom MultiNet vector dataset provided by Eurostat; and built-up surfaces derived from the harmonised 100 m Imperviousness Density (IMD) dataset produced within the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service. An imperviousness threshold of 30% was applied to identify built-up areas, while roads were buffered according to their functional class.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The normalised meff value expresses the probability that two randomly selected points within a reporting unit belong to the same unfragmented landscape patch.
